The Hooker and The Hermit by L H Cosway and Penny Reid

Plot:

Annie, introverted Social Media Marketing expert and influential celebrity blogger behind the scenes, meets Ronan, an Irish rugby hooker (a rugby specialist ‘forward’ position) in need of cleaning up his public image.

Ronan is very happy at the thought of being paired up with beautiful Annie but she’s not exactly thrilled:

My social phobias aside, I needed alone time with Ronan like a car needed a swim in the ocean.”

Also..what will happens when he discovers she’s the “Socialmedialite” that publicly mocked him on her blog?

Personal Thoughts:

The Hooker and The Hermit was a good read but be prepared for OTT drama!

I loved Ronan and the fact he’s the one doing “the pursuing”.
Though I have to say, I wasn’t always very happy with how he physically approached her at the beginning of the story because she had a serious problem with being touched and he kept on invading her personal space.
Not cool.
Even if he’s adorably sweet, generous, tender, charming and so many other beautiful things.

He’s also a witty dirty talker.

“You going to let me inside you tonight, love?”
“Isn’t that more of a fourth or fifth date kind of thing?
“I’m Irish. We don’t adhere to that shite.”

Halfway through I was a bit taken aback when he turned ON the “BDSM-mode”.
I didn’t have an issue with it (not at all😎) but it bothered a friend of mine that doesn’t enjoy BDSM in her reads and was caught unaware so…thought I should warn you about it.

Annie was a very interesting character but I had some difficulty believing that, with her kind of social difficulties, she ended up becoming a successful project leader in a Social Media Marketing division in “real life”.
She was also frustrating, especially in the second half of the book when she kept pushing him away and dragging things unreasonably.

It wasn’t a perfect read but I loved Ronan and the banters/emails with the Socialmedialite (Annie’s secret online persona)

The plot was well developed and, even if the story was slow paced and occasionally dragged with lots of internal dialogue, I was entertained and happy with their perfect HEA.

My love…” he paused, kissed the tip of my nose, and whispered, “I don’t always want you tied up. I want you free. I want you wild. I want you brave. I want you any way I can get you. I want you now, and I want you for the rest of my life.

I love him more than Sean Connery loves talking about Scottish politics while living in Southern California with a llama.
