Mean Streak by Sandra Brown
Plot:
In North Carolina Dr. Emory Charbonneau, wakes up in a mountain cabin with an head injury and a menacing stranger that doesn’t want to reveil his name.
Fog and snow surround the cabin and the worsening weather conditions prevent her to leave.
She’s stranded with a man that might actually be responsible for her injury.
Her husband was probably right on arguing about her plans for the weekend.
Her training session on mountain roads for the upcoming fund raising marathon might have lead her to her demise…or her salvation.
Personal Thoughts:
Overall it was a very good read with a solid plot and good characters hence it deserves a 4 stars rating but…
The pace was, at times, a bit too slow and
I wished the Hero was a little less “shady” throughout the book because after a while his “teasing”, meant to confuse Evory and us readers, just annoyed me.
Clearly he was the “Hero” of the story…the “maybe I’m the bad guy” act was good at first but not throughout the book…
Also you’ll have to suspend your disbelief in order to believe the heroine’s motivation for going on a 20 miles run on mountain roads ALONE.
Those are the only minor (for me) issues I had with this book.
I ended up engaged from beginning to end and I would very much recommend this read to all those that enjoy romance with mystery and suspence added to the mix.
I truly enjoy Sandra Brown’s writing and to date “Honor Bound” remains one of my favorite books.
