My Review:
Kathleen Crawfield, aka Cat , is half vampire / half human and she’s determined to kill as many vampires as she possibly can, to avenge what the sperm provider responsible for her conception did to her mother.
While “hunting” she meets Bones, the most annoying vampire ever and a presumptuous, pompous ass that challenges her at every turn.
After failing to kill him they make a pact:
He’ll help her find and kill the vampire who raped her mother IF she agrees to help him kill only the vampires he targets.
First things first though… she’s in desperate need of training!
The obnoxious english vampire’s reasons are a mystery and their adventure?
A journey you definitely don’t want to miss.
Loved LOVED the MC. The banter is awesome and every interaction hilarious.
I’ve read LOTS of reviews mentioning that BONES sounds very familiar when it comes to “Buffy the vampire slayer” fans and it’s so true!
If you had a thing for Spike’s attitude and dark humor (in my mind minus Spike’s skeletal oxygenated look which I DID NOT find attractive AT ALL) , YOU’LL ABSOLUTELY ADORE Bones.
Cat is a perfect match for him and his humor…

Everyone lives that moment in life when it’s important to figure out who we are and where we want to be, Cat is exactly at that stage when she meets Bones:
All I’m saying is that sooner of later, you’ll have to come to terms with yourself. You can’t wish away the vampire in you, and you shouldn’t keep atoning for it. You should figure out who you are and what you need, and then don’t apologize for it. Not to me, to your mum, or to anyone.
He is sweet, understanding and he always has her back.
He’s also charming and naughty:
Is that a stake, Bones, or are you just happy with my new dress?”
“In this case, it’s a stake. You could always feel around for something more, though. See what comes up.
The plot is entertaining from beginning to end and even the most incredible things are made credible somehow.
There’s a scene with a perverted ghost obsessed with Moonshine, there’s an awesome Cat “the vampire killing slut” makeover and a lesson in “dirty talk endurance”… their banter all over made me laugh so hard!!
Cat’s mother is obviously horrified by the thought of her daughter being in a relationship with a vampire because she was raped by one of them so Cat does everything she can to keep her from meeting her new vampire boyfriend…
“Kitten, you still haven’t told her? Blimey, what
are you waiting for?”

closet!
I also feel Cat’s neighbor Timmie deserves a mention because he was hilarious with Cat’s mom:
We’re going to knock those demons out and slay them with the power of Jesus. Hallelujah, can I get an amen?
Cat’s mom believes Timmie is talking about killing vampires (which is not the case) and thinks his “religious” fervor makes him a fanatic while poor Timmie is just trying to help Cat out after she told him her mother is a strict pentecostal that hates Bones because he’s English… hence the “power of Jesus & Hallelujah” quote!!
The plot has plenty of crazy and absurd moments but I haven’t laughed so much reading a paranormal romance in a long time.
The romance is fun and steamy…
He leaned over and kissed me. A long, deep kiss filled with promise and passion. I loved the way he kissed me. Like he was drinking in the taste of me and still coming back thirsty.
… and the paranormal aspects, action and subplots well written.
I’m so glad I found out about this series!
A few interesting secondary characters make their appearance throughout the story, I hope I‘ll get to “meet” them in the following books 🙂
