Overall I loved this series but I have to say I was disappointed with this conclusion.
I had LOTS OF EXPECTATIONS and most were not met.
Even so, I loved this adventure and I’m so happy I dived right into it!
~MY NOTES~
✷About the romance:
I absolutely love romance and here I’ve waited 2 books for more of Penryn /Raffe love story BUT Penryn kind of goes out of character where hot angel Raffe is concerned.
I completely understand she’s 17 and all hormonal but…I wanted her “badassery” included in the romance and instead I got:
“Time stops, and I forget about about everything else – the apocalypse, my enemies, watching eyes, monsters in the night.
All I feel is the kiss.
All I am is Raffe’s girl.”
The “All I am is Raffe’s girl” quote is NOT Penryn as I got to know her in the previous books.
Even so, I told ya I’m a romance junkie and overall I enjoyed these two.
✷About the Plot:
A lot of questions are left unanswered such as…where do warrior angel came from? What was the true purpose of all this? How is it possible that Raffe is “agnostic” but he actually was high in the “angel gerarchy” and a Watchers’s leader?
A lot of stuff we’re supposed to accept as they are and I hoped those things would made more sense after this book.
✷About the ending:
I loved this story so much that I wished for more “days after the end” and a clearer picture of what their future will be.
We’re talking about the “end of days” so I can understand why the author chose that finale.
It’s epic but at the very end feels uncertain and “open” like there’ll be more.
We know the happy stuff comes right along with all the consequences and endless possibilities the world has to face after destruction.
I just wanted to know more about those consequences and those possibilities to give this story a firmer closure in my head.
I practically devoured this series!
Non-stop action, hilarious banters, epic battles to save humanity and a starcrossed love story….what are you waiting for?
